How to get here
  • The race starts and finishes at the Sports Field. For further directions see ‘How to get here’.
  • The race begins at 11am. Participants should arrive before 10:30am to allow time for parking, registration and a warm-up.
  • There is plenty of free off-street parking on the field, however, the access will have to be closed for a short while prior to and during the actual race itself.
  • Changing facilities and refreshments are available in the pavilion.
  • Entry fees: £6 per runner (£4 for current UK Athletics members) The £2 extra that is paid by non-UK Athletics members is a levy imposed by UK Athletics for holding an event under their rules. All of that additional £2, therefore, goes to UK Athletics.
  • Entry on the day, subject to availability, will carry a £2 surcharge for all entrants.
  • Each runner that completes the course will receive a commemorative medal. Due to difficulties in estimating the numbers of medals required for entrants who may turn up on the day, those who chose to do so may have to wait until additional medals can be purchased and posted out.

Health and Safety

  • We will carry out a risk analysis & consult with the Police & Local Council to ensure that the race is as safe as possible.
  • Our Marshals will control traffic for the duration of the run with the aim of minimising inconvenience to residents and through traffic.
  • Runners must keep to the designated route and must follow the directions of marshals.
  • All runners must advise the St Johns Ambulance staff of any medical condition before you run.
  • All runners are advised to arrive in sufficient time to allow a decent warm up before the race. Runners should also warm down properly after the race to avoid unnecessary injury.
  • Runners & spectators must take responsibility for their own safety, and of their children, and possessions.
  • Mears Ashby Sports Club have £10million public liability insurance, not that we want to make a claim
